“By being aware that we are a part of Life, we can consciously connect to the whole, to nature in ourselves and to all our fellow human beings.”

The uniqueness of each human being, every form life, and the potential to express this uniqueness in the world, is a continuum throughout Irene’s life and work. Over the years, Irene has engaged in political activities, work for women and peace, education and organisational change. In the last twenty years, her activities as an author, speaker and educator have evolved around living and learning in connection. She has developed and teaches a programme of intuitive development for teachers and foresters (NatuurWijs) as well as a programme for ‘intuitive nature guides’ around Bergplaats, South Africa. As a founder of NatuurCollege, Irene plays an important role in nourishing a broad understanding of our natural interconnectedness ‘the inside of sustainabiliy’.

“Throughout my life, I have always felt the presence of a strong natural source. I knew that there were larger dimensions around me, and I felt protected and connected in that field. Nature in her totality and diversity, including human beings, is to me no different than that, the primal source of creation. All life on and in the Earth is connected. By coming home in nature, I found my own human nature and deep connection with love in all her dimensions. Out of this connection and connectedness I teach my courses, time and again full of wonder about the synchronicity of life. The more we are ourselves, the more we can connect to all that is.”

Irene van Lippe-Biesterfeld teaches on the course Soil, Soul, Society on March 15-17, 2013.
